| 51x71 cm Conceptually, reflection can be viewed literally or figuratively. In our literal, physical world, we think of mirrors, pools of still water, glass. However, reflection also speaks of contemplation, musings, deliberation, a super-power essential to human existence. The alignment between physical and metaphysical reflection is explored in this series of work.
'Reflections from a Garden Vista' aims to capture the elusive moment when, as we stare into a window, deep in contemplation, we catch a glimpse of reflection. In one moment, we are seeing through, seeing within and seeing behind. This work abstractly conveys the juxtaposition of past, present and future in the literal and figurative moment of reflecting. |
