Suri Tribe - Suri men pierce their ear lobes and insert progressively larger clay plates into the opening in their ear lobes. Both Suri men and women endure scarification in a belief that a scarified body is beautiful. Scarification is an act of covering, disguising, and transforming the body by creating wounds in one's own flesh in order to cause indelible markings or scaring.
