This is a painting from a period in my practice where my work was rapidly changing in the mid 2000's. Working as a mural artist, I was painting quickly at large scale, allowing me to try out new techniques and ideas. I always liked this example from my Parkland Games series, the mixture of formality and spontaneity of the expressive line work and composition stands up well 20 years later. |
