When We Played Together By Jee Sung Ra
Dimensions: 60x50 cm
Medium: Acrylic paint

This painting captures a fleeting moment I witnessed at the South Bank Art Performance Centre in Brisbane.
Two students, perhaps classmates, sat at a public piano placed in the open foyer.
They played together, quietly and naturally, unaware of how beautiful the scene looked from behind.
There was something timeless about it, a peaceful pause in the middle of an ordinary day.
They might forget this moment someday, but it felt like the kind of memory that lingers, even when we don't realize it's being made.
And perhaps, along with the music and stillness, their dreams for the future were present too, the kind of hopes and imagination that only exist at that age.
I painted this from a photo I took that day, hoping to preserve that gentle atmosphere, filled with youth, sound, stillness, and a quiet sense of possibility.
