| 'Echoes of Aussie Daze' tells the story of Australia's unique flora and fauna whilst highlighting the fragility of our biodiversity. The wet season creates a happy home for the elusive platypus and playful pelican, whilst wild brumbies run through lush, green fields that provide plenty of fresh grass for the kangaroos who feast at dusk under the watchful gaze of a sleepy koala. The dry season brings drought and dust, drying out the creek bed to create a burrow for the resourceful wombat whilst the crane finds a muddy billabong with just enough fresh water to feed the sparse vegetation the camel needs to eat. The dry conditions and the hot, Australian sun cause a bushfire to race through the trees behind camel, as he gazes back at the trees long burnt and already sprouting fresh leaves. The tall rainbow eucalyptus in the centre provides no shelter for emu who mistakes the smoke from the bushfire as clouds, promising rain that never comes. 'Echoes of Aussie Daze' features thousands of multilayer, acrylic dots and took over 300 hours to create. |
