| “Stillness in Blue” is a portrait of inwardness—a moment of quiet emotion suspended in time. Painted in rich, layered washes of blue, the work explores solitude, feminine resilience, and the calm that follows emotional overwhelm. Her closed eyes invite the viewer to pause with her, to feel rather than to explain.
This piece emerged intuitively, using watercolour’s fluidity to reflect vulnerability and depth. The textures in the background mirror the complexity of the inner world, while the soft yet defined features of the figure evoke both strength and surrender.
As an emerging artist, I am drawn to portraying emotional states with honesty and atmosphere, using loose brushwork, organic movement, and symbolic colour. This piece marks a step in my journey of expressing silent stories—ones that are felt more than heard. |
