| Free from care. Free from inhibitions. Wild, untamed and perfectly imperfect, 'Free' is everything my soul yearns for. To be back on a horse galloping full pelt across the Great Dividing Range. To be full of life and energy, and uninhibited by pain and exhaustion. To be free of the shackles of my disability. Free is what spilt forth from my brush when I yearned to feel the way I once did - like the wild brumbies that roam the mountains from where I call home, totally, completely and utterly - free. Internally I scream with longing for that once held freedom, but instead I say 'I'm sorry, you'll have to go without me, have fun though'. This piece is a reminder that one must never take for granted the feeling that is 'Free'. |
