Fragments of Becoming Whole By Julie-anne Pascoe
Dimensions: 401x40 cm
Medium: Multimedia

This piece is a visual meditation on the slow, often nonlinear journey of healing after trauma. The central figure, inward and folded, represents a moment of pause — a sacred space where brokenness meets the possibility of repair. Surrounding her are swirling forms, circular energies, and luminous fragments that speak to both chaos and creation.

Each element — the blue, the fiery earth tones, the spirals and dots — represents a piece of memory, emotion, or identity returning to the self. Not perfectly, not all at once, but enough to begin feeling whole again.

Fragments of Becoming Whole is deeply personal. As a survivor of family and domestic violence, this work is part of my own healing — a reclaiming of voice, form, and colour after years spent silenced. Creating again is both an act of courage and restoration. This painting is not just art. It is a map of coming back to myself.
