Ellena Jade

Ellena Jade is a Logan-based visual artist with a background in digital design and interactive media. Originally trained as a Senior User Interface Artist, Ellena transitioned into visual art after more than a decade in the creative industries.

She holds a Bachelor of Multimedia Design from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment (Animation Major) from QANTM College.

Ellena began her career as a 2D/3D Graphic Designer, working across various digital platforms for five years before entering the video game industry. Over the next ten years, she honed her craft as a User Interface Artist, shaping how players interact with digital environments. Her expertise spans illustration, visual effects, and user-centered design, contributing to seamless and engaging player experiences.

During her career, Ellena has contributed to high-profile projects for major clients including Apple Arcade and Netflix.

In 2024, Ellena’s life changed dramatically when she was involved in a tragic bus accident as a passenger. She sustained multiple injuries, including two strokes, which resulted in noticeable cognitive challenges and led her to take a step back from her career in digital design. During her recovery, painting became a therapeutic outlet—initially a means of coping, but soon evolving into a powerful new chapter in her creative journey. Time spent in clinical environments led Ellena to seek inspiration in nature. It has become her refuge; a place rich in detail, colour, and complexity. This deepened appreciation for the natural world now informs her work. Ellena strives to create intricate, layered pieces that invite viewers to linger, and to look again. Her art is no longer about escape through technology; it's about connection, healing, and rediscovery through nature and organic beauty.
