| Douglas Talbot, an Australian portrait artist, has had a lifelong passion for art, always with a pencil in hand from an early age. Growing up in Western Sydney, NSW, this natural interest and innate ability laid the foundation for his artistic journey. After completing a Diploma in Fine Arts, Douglas embarked on a fulfilling career in law enforcement, where art took a back seat but remained a constant source of inspiration.
Following his departure from the Police Force and now based on the vibrant Gold Coast, a rediscovered passion for the arts has taken centre stage. Specialising in portraiture, Douglas is driven by a deep-seated desire to capture the essence and character of each subject.
Using acrylics, inks, and textured mediums, he meticulously crafts each portrait, focusing on fine details and textures to reveal the depth of human emotion and identity. Additionally, Douglas explores life drawing with pencils, and the creation of movie style props, further enriching his artistic exploration.
