ART STYLE
I would call my style eclectic as I jump from portraits, still life, landscapes, to imaginings from other time periods. The world I am lucky enough to inhabit allows me the gift of time to play with my imagination and see what form it will take on the canvas.
I love mixing and playing with colour. I believe colour has the ability to heal, to soothe or to spark a flame within.
I am curious about ancient archaeological sites and maintain a sense of wonder regarding the ancient ritual practices and ceremonies that took place there. The architecture, scientific understandings, art, and artifacts from sites indicate advanced civilizations and technology. Their fascination with measuring time periods that track our movements from moons to equinoxes, solstices and greater time cycles intrigues me. Sometimes my artwork takes me to these time periods.
Painting always takes me on an inner journey and if the painting activates your journeying or imagination then I am delighted.
I have predominately painted in oils but also paint in acrylic, pen and inks, and mixed media.
