| My name is Pat Lee
Trained as an Art Teacher at the South Australian School of Art under lecturers such as
Sydney Ball, Owen Broughton, Dora Cant, Max Lyle, Bill Gregory and Tony Bishop. The Art Teaching course was very varied and included three years of Painting, Drawing, Design, Life drawing, Sculpture, Print Making and various craft activities. As a painter I have worked in both Acrylics and Oils. With over thirtyyears of experience in teaching art to secondary students and also to adult night classes and most recently I taught a small group of adults focussing on Acrylic painting and colour theory.
As an artist I have spent far too many years in the wilderness- too busy teaching with too few hours left to explore my own creativity. On moving to Tasmania in late 2004 I was encouraged to pick up the paints and brushes to create works for my home. This provided the incentive to explore the characteristics of light and shadow as well as exploring other application techniques including glazing and the post-impressionist style.
I have particularly been interested in looking at quirky compositional elements and photo realism.
Since retiring from teaching I have set myself the challenge of learning new skills and mediums.
