| I moved to Australia from NZ in 1980, but being a solo parent bringing up two children, art was put aside. It wasn't until they were off my hands, that I saw a sign in an art shop "It takes courage to be creative". I then took the plunge.
I took painting classes at RQAS, Gold Coast, as well as learning from other artists on line, books, and experimenting with various mediums. I like to work from photos and interesting places I have seen on my travels. I now favour resin and painting abstracts with a little mixed media.
I have been involved with RQAS (Broadbeach Art Gallery) Gold Coast for many years and submit paintings monthly to be hung in the gallery. My 'crafty side' has developed as I expand my knowledge with resin art on tables, cheeseboard, coasters and trays. I continue to learn and grow as an artist and look forward to what the future may hold. |
