| Hey there! I’m Kurt McGregor, the creative force behind Art of Zig. I’m a self-taught artist from Brisbane, Australia, with a passion for expressing ideas through a wide range of mediums including painting, illustration, screen printing, woodworking, photography, and more recently, videography.
Since I was a kid, I’ve been deeply curious about the mysteries of existence, and that fascination continues to shape and inspire my work. My art often explores the symbolic, the sacred, and the unseen, weaving together stories and themes that reflect both inner and outer journeys.
One of my greatest joys is painting portraits. There’s something powerful about the stories a face can tell without saying a word. The emotion, the energy, the life lived behind the eyes. Capturing that on canvas feels like connecting to something deeply human and universal.
When I’m not in the studio or workshop, you’ll likely find me camping with family and friends, exploring new places and meeting new people, enjoying a music festival, or winding down with a good documentary.
