| Artist Statement for Jennifer Fidler (Jen)
I am a self-taught artist and have been painting and drawing for most of my life. I started with landscapes and seascapes around the southern end of the Gold Coast and Currumbin Valley. I studied the techniques of the old masters painting in layers both with oils and oil pencils.
I paint for the love of painting and for the satisfaction it provides my inner soul. Each painting or drawing is the accumulation of months of research involving photographs, historical attributes, lighting etc, and an overall commitment to portray the story behind the art in the art.
