Artistic Resume:

My knowledge and love of the art world began with a year of study at school many
decades ago. My father, and historically the fathers of many artists, discouraged
me from pursuing it any further as it was not considered the way to earn a living.
Regardless of formal qualifications I've always maintained my passion for art and
with my wife have acquired some beautiful pieces over a busy working life as a
truck driver.
With the good fortune of an early retirement, time has allowed my passion to be
pursued on a very personal level. With the encouragement of my wife and close
friends I have picked up the palette knives and paints to cobble together my own
painting techniques, thus self taught. I sense an impressionist influence in my
style using predominately oil paints and palette knives as tools. Having dabbled
with acrylic and watercolour paints also gives me an appreciation for those who can
master their particular idiosyncrasies. In the beginning I had a passion to paint,
mostly now it has become an obsession. Many hours pass by as I find myself lost in
the creativity process.
I see myself as an emerging artist and am humbled by positive acknowledgements such as being selected to exhibit in the 'Here and Now' exhibition last year. Sales of
my work include entries into Brunswick St, Melbourne competition, Incognito
exhibition in Sydney, and local sales.
