Elaine Hudson

I completed my BA in Fine Arts & Visual Culture at the age of 50 and loved every minute of it.
I spent most of my childhood drawing cartoon characters, then through high school, I did work experience several times with the cartoonists of The Sunday Sun Newspaper and the Courier Mail newspaper in Brisbane.
With this I have developed a unique style that is both playful and meaningful. I specialize in painting portraits and still life's, capturing the beauty of everyday objects that we so easily overlook.
My art is a celebration of life and the small things that we take for granted, but with a pop art /cartoon twist.
I spent many years using pen and inks which I learnt from working with cartoonists, but these days, I enjoy using colourful acrylics.
