I am a Brisbane artist who mainly works in acrylic, but also enjoys watercolour, gelli printing, alcohol inks, free flow acrylic and mixed media. My paintings are vivid and colourful, their subject matter mostly flowers, inspired by a long-held love from a gardening family. I also paint birds, bold landscapes and seascapes. The challenge of capturing a transient moment inspires me to paint and the magic happens when the ideas, treatments and colours collide.
Art has been a life-long passion and I completed an art major focusing on design as part of my teaching degree. I enjoy the companionship of like-minded artists, attend weekly art groups and volunteer at the Royal Queensland Art Society. For many years I have participated in workshops at BIA and Bienarte, leading me to learn new techniques and allowing me to respond intuitively to parts of artworks by chance and develop other sections by choice. I hope that my artworks reflect the joy I experience in creating them.
