The Australian Artists Awards Terms and Conditions
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- Prospective competitors must read these Conditions of Entry in full.
- The competition is open to anyone residing in Australia.
- Age limit is 18 years and over.
- Entries must be less than 1 square metre in area, including any framing.
- They must be original 2D works created by the entrant using traditional media.
- Photography, Printed works, or digitally created works of any type are not acceptable. Collage or multi-media workMAY contain these elements where they form a small part of the assembly in size or significance. This is at the discretion of the organisers.
- Acceptance of any artwork is at the discretion of the organisers. No reason may be given for non-acceptance.
- The artworks must not breach any copyright.
- Copyright and Moral rights for original artworks are retained by the artist.The artist agrees to allow the organisers to have non-exclusive rights to use images of artwork for promotional purposes.
Promotional purposes: For Exhibition catalogues and printed advertising materials relating to the Australian Artists Awards. The Awards are non-acquisitive.
- Artwork must not have won a prize in any other major competition.
- Each person may enter a maximum of two entries.
- The entry fee is $35 per entry, non-refundable.
- Artworks must be For Sale, and a 20% commission on sales is applicable.
- Where an entrant is represented by a gallery, it is their responsibility to notify their gallery of participation in this prize.
The entrant acknowledges that any commission arrangement they have with their gallery is separate from the commission
retained by The Arts Collective, and any onward payment to the gallery will be their responsibility.
ENTRY PROCESS
Entry Open Date/Time is 5pm May 30th 2025.
Entry Close Date/Time is 5pm July 31st 2025.
- Register using the button on the website Main page.
- Login. On Login and successful registration, the My Profile button becomes available.
- In My Profile Add your Artist Biography.
- In My Profile Add your Artwork details, maximum of two artworks in .JPG format, maximum size 5MB.
- In My Profile Transfer your payment to the Bank account specified using the details under the Payments button.
- Your artwork will be marked 'Pending' until payment is cleared.

Notes:
Once your payment has been processed you will receive an SMS confirmation. The 'Pending' label will disappear. Ensure your phone number is correct.
Login is required so that you can modify/update your artworks and to vote.
You can update your artwork photograph and title as often as you wish, until the 5pm July 31st 2025.After that date/time no further changes are possible and whatever is there will be in the competition.
Setting up an "Artist Profile" is required. This will be used in the Online Gallery after the Awards night, so that visitors interested in your
artwork can see additional information about you, the artist.
VOTING
- Voting commences from August 9th.
- Each participant has 10 votes, irrespective of whether they enter one or two artworks.
The votes must be allocated to 10 artworks, a single vote to each.
- They cannot vote for themselves.
- Every vote must be allocated or their artwork will be excluded from the voting process, and will receive no votes.
- After the close of voting, the votes will be tallied.
- If after voting there is not a clear winning order, the organisers may, at their discretion, amalgamate prize monies and split prizes between the tying artworks, or hold a second vote.
- The organisers decisions are final.
- The Finalists will be notified on voting conclusion.
FINALISTS
The top 50 Finalists will be invited to be displayed at the Able Gallery, 27 Coral St, Loganlea QLD 4131, and awards presented at the awards night, 20th September 2025.
The following rules apply to Finalists:
- If an artwork is substantially different to the photo voted on, it will be disqualified.
- Insurance of and delivery of artworks to and from the gallery is at the expense of the competitors.
The organisers will accept no liability for damage or costs incurred as a result of competing in this competition.
- Artworks must be ready for hanging with large D Rings.
- They must be clearly labelled on the back with Title, Artist's Name, Price and a Contact Number.
- Professional artists must provide an ABN on the back label. This is not a requirement for Hobbyist artists.
- Proceeds from sales will be settled within two weeks after clearance of payments or at exhibition closure.
- Artworks not received during the designated times on the drop-off day(s) will be disqualified.
- Artworks with Wet paint anywhere will be disqualified.
- Artworks presented looking unprofessional will be disqualified. For example, unframed canvases must have the edges painted.
The Organisers will determine what is 'Unprofessional'.
- Artworks disqualified for any reason will have their votes forfeited and the Finalist list adjusted accordingly.
- All artworks are to remain in place for the duration of the exhibition.
- The artist agrees to allow the organisers to have non-exclusive rights to use images of artwork for promotional purposes.
- Unsold artworks are to be collected on the specified days/times.
- No responsibility is taken for uncollected artworks. Uncollected artworks will be deemed abandoned goods and disposed of.
- All artworks entered in the competition will be displayed online at least throughout the month of September 2025.
